How we work

How we work

In-person, online, or over the phone
Session length - 50 minutes

A counselling session runs for approximately 50 minutes.  Your first session might be 60 to 70 minutes, to give us an opportunity to get to know each other and for me to gain a better understanding of your needs.

Confidentiality guaranteed

Confidentiality is something I take very seriously.  Your business is your business and no one else’s.  What is said in a counselling room stays in the counselling room.  No information is shared with any other person or service without your written permission.

There's no minimum sessions

How many sessions you need depends on the complexity of the issues you are dealing with.  For some, 6 to 8 sessions gives them enough tools and confidence to move forward,  others feel they would benefit from more sessions.

Flexible times that suit you

Whether you need to fit counselling into your work life, home life, or other life, we can see you at a time that suits. We work early mornings, evenings and Saturdays.  You can also use our online and phone counselling.

Do you need counselling? Ask yourself these questions

  • Do you have concerns about feelings or behaviours that you are struggling to resolve?

  • Are you struggling to reconcile and live with past traumatic events?

  • Are your responses and feelings about past experiences intensifying or overwhelming you?

  • Have you tried addressing issues on your own without much success?

  • Are your concerns affecting your ability to concentrate and complete tasks?

  • Do you find it difficult to discuss your current concerns with friends and family?

  • Do you rely too heavily on others to help you process your feelings?

  • Are your relationships with loved ones affected by your behaviours and patterns?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, counselling could be just what you need to help you reconcile your issues and deal with the challenges in your life.
